IFRS 16 Compliance Pitfalls, Checklist and Solution

IFRS 16 has been in effect since 1st of January 2019. Companies are now deep in the trenches in lease accounting compliance. While some are reveling in the success of well-established tactics, more are retreating to the drawing board. We see a number of customers are creating complicated files to manage their compliance requirements and are struggling with calculation ‘RoU’ on balance sheet, depreciation cost, lease liability, and in particular changes in lease contract, leading to time consuming and vary manual process at each reporting period. Many of these companies that chose to use spreadsheets or partial measures by degrees for lease accounting are now looking to alleviate overly complex and labour-intensive compliance processes. They are starting to look in refining their compliance strategies as an effort to fix and solve these compliance issues.
In this session, we will discuss the following key points:

  • Typical pitfalls lessees face in connection with the new standard

  • Best Practices from over 200 customer projects

  • Ways in simplifying and automating the whole accounting process and compliance

  • Opportunity to improve your financial process

Please join us on Tuesday, 28th April 2020 at 1:30pm – 2:15pm Sydney time for this live webinar where Mr. Alex Nguyen, IFRS Presales Solutions Architect, APAC, CCH Tagetik, will take us through the ins and outs of IFRS 16 and the solutions that can simplify and streamline your compliance.

INTEGRATED REPORTING, A KEY PART OF THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF FINANCE

We are pleased to invite you to a live 30-minute webinar on Integrated Reporting, the second event in the series on the Digital Transformation of Finance.

To register, please go to:

https://www.tagetik.com/au/events-news/events/event?eid=/events/2019/integrated-reporting-digital-transformation-platform

Integrated Reporting enhances your reporting and enables companies to link strategic, management and external financial reporting.

Under Integrated Reporting, companies provide more information on the broader health of the organisation and the challenges and opportunities it faces in the future, rather than focusing on analysing past financial results. This includes more focus on active governance, resource use and exposure, strategic performance, and management of material risk to create and preserve value.

In traditional reports, the reader is often not given sufficient information to fully assess a company’s ability to execute its strategy in the future, and so whether past earnings are likely to be sustainable in the medium to long term.

It is not surprising there has been groundswell in the adoption of Integrated Reporting in Australia and New Zealand, it’s basically better business reporting.

In just 30 minutes, you will hear from thought leaders from KPMG and the CFO Group on how you can make Integrated Reporting a reality, including:

  • What Integrated Reporting is and why it matters

  • How Integrated Reporting fits into your planning and reporting cycles

  • The technology that is required to support Integrated Reporting

  • Integrated Reporting in action

  • The roadmap for quick and successful implementation

Guest Speakers:

Daniel Bruce, Partner, Finance Strategy and Performance, KPMG
Daniel is the country-wide lead for Enterprise Performance Management. Daniel is hands-on in helping CFOs modernise their finance organisations through digital transformation.

Nick Ridehalgh, Lead, Better Business Reporting, KPMG

Nick is a subject matter expert in Integrated Reporting and leads a team within KPMG CFO Advisory to provide customers with better business reporting practices.

Geoff Noble, Managing Director, CFO Group
Geoff leads a firm specialising in helping CFOs digitise the processes of planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Geoff has over 40 years of experience in implementing software solutions for the office of finance.

  • What the finance operation of the future looks like

  • The technology is required to support the digital transformation

  • The roadmap to success

  • The key benefits and payback

Guest Speakers:
